About me
Jessica Robledo was sworn in as the Chief of Police for the City of Denton Police Department on Oct. 8, 2024, after serving as the interim chief for five months. In that capacity, her priorities included recruitment, retention, and community engagement. She also emphasized the importance of officer safety and wellness.
Chief Robledo has over three decades of experience in law enforcement and 17 years of executive and supervisory experience. She served with the Austin Police Department for 30 years, where she retired as an assistant police chief and then served four years as the Chief of Police in Pflugerville, Texas. In addition to her experience in local communities, Robledo served as the Executive Chair of the Texas Police Chiefs Association and Vice President of Law Enforcement Executives of Central Texas.
Her experience as a law enforcement executive has allowed her to roundtable with regional partners and to provide a unique, diversified perspective to her peers, team, and organization. She believes that open and honest collaboration results in identifying the specific needs of our growing multi-cultural segments of our organization and helps to facilitate the needed exchange of information, intelligence, and identified stop gaps.
Chief Robledo recognizes the importance of collaboration, trust building and problem solving. She supports regional partnerships and participates in events that foster team building and building trust. She has a great passion for coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential. She frequently serves as a motivational speaker, emphasizing the importance of education, setting goals, and remaining engaged with an organization’s diverse culture.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Angelo State University. She is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police, and the Major Cities Chiefs Association’s Police Executive Leadership Institute.
