2025 Women of Law Enforcement Conference

Aaron Benzick is a detective with the Plano Police Department with over twenty-two years of experience. He has had the opportunity to investigate hundreds of violent crimes to include murder, kidnapping, robbery, and assault types of offenses. In addition to his own case experience, Aaron has assisted investigators across the United States in their cases. During his professional career, he has testified as an expert witness in the area of cellular devices, including location data mapping and forensic examinations. Additionally, he has developed software used by city, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for mapping location data.

Using the experience he has gained as a lead detective in numerous violent offenses, Aaron has created the non-profit organization Solve the Case Inc. with the goal to assist agencies in understanding and using technology in their investigations and expand awareness of unsolved cases. Aaron has assisted other agencies in the closure of many cases, including a cold-case murder, and has recently solved a 34-year-old cold case kidnapping and sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl for his agency using genetic genealogy.
